The Communication and Languages Department at IoBM hosted a session by Zambeel Dramatic Readings on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at the IoBM auditorium. Shama Askari, Asma Mundrawala and Fawad Khan, representatives of Zambeel Dramatic Readings, read short stories by Ismat Chughtai. These stories were ‘Ghoonghat’, ‘Amar Bayl’ and ‘Aik Shauhar ki Khaatir’. Zambeel Dramatic Readings aims to present texts in Urdu and English, rendered in dramatized form, to create a dynamic effect with the amalgamation of literature and performance.
Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Rector IoBM along with the faculty and students attended the session. Dr. Hyder presented mementos to the guests. He recognized the efforts of the organizers and the guests for reviving the art of Urdu literature. He highlighted the importance of such events to keep the youth of the country aware of their literature and culture. The event was appreciated by both faculty and students who were entertained by the dialogue delivery and vocal intonations of the performers.
