Nestle Pakistan organized a recruitment drive through a case study competition. Several teams from The Institute of Business Management, Institute of Business Administration, Karachi School of Business and Leadership and SZABIST participated. All teams were given a live case on Strategy and Marketing to work upon. IoBM’s Students Team secured the top position in the competition.
Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM, presented Certificates to members of IoBM’s Teams which won the ‘Quest for the Best ‘ Case Study Competition organized by Nestle. The Certificate Distribution ceremony was held at the President’s office at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Mr. Talib Karim always encourages students to participate in such career-oriented experiential learning initiatives with MNCs. Recent such competitions were won by IoBM amid the guidance of Dr. Khalid Amin, Head of International Cooperation, Placement and Alumni, IoBM and were facilitated by Mr. Abdul Khaliq, Assistant Manager, Placement, IoBM.
The Nestle Case Study Competition gave the IoBM Team a problem to solve in which “Maggi”, a product of Nestle, was facing severe competition and decline in its sales from its competitor “Knorr”. The Team was required to research factors involved in the declining market share of “Maggi” and propose a strategy to overcome the problem. Based on detailed marketing research and analysis of consumer behavior, a marketing strategy was proposed for the brand’s revival with a one year marketing budget.
