On behalf of Mr. Talib S. Karim, President, Institute of Business Management (IoBM), an Eid Milan was organized on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at the Entrepreneurship and Management Excellence Center (EMEC), IoBM. This Eid Milan was held to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr of 2019 which fell on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 (Islamic Date: Shawwal 01, 1440)
Besides the presence of Mr. Talib S. Karim and Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, Administration, Admissions and Finance, present on this occasion were IoBM’s Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Rector; Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani, Senior Advisor to President, Dean, CBM, and HoD Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) and Graduate Studies (OGS); Dr. Shahida Wizarat, Dean College of Economics and Social Development (CESD); Dr. Seema Ansari, Associate Dean, College of Engineering and Sciences (CES) and Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Dean College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS). This gathering was well-attended by Deans, HoDs, faculty, management and staff.
Hafiz Humayun Baig initiated the proceedings of the event by reciting verses from the Holy Quran and by offering Fateha for IoBM’s Late Founder President, Shahjehan S. Karim. Fateha were also offered for those from the IoBM family and relatives of the IoBM family who departed for their heavenly abode in the recent past.
Mr. Talib S. Karim, during his welcome note, emphasized on the cherished principles on which IoBM’s late Founder President, Shahjehan S. Karim envisioned IoBM which has now become a beacon of quality education in Pakistan and abroad. Mr. Talib S. Karim especially mentioned that nearly 392 faculty members are now part of IoBM and when visiting faculty and management staff is included this number touches 800. He said that apart from the idea of creating a world-class academic institution, IoBM’s late Founder President also intended at providing employment opportunities. Mr. Talib Karim also said that IoBM’s Late Founder President always looked forward to the Eid Milan gathering and enjoyed meeting with the IoBM family.
Ms. Sabina Mohsin, while talking to the attendees of the Eid Milan, reinforced the treasured principles of Late Founder President, Shahjehan S. Karim, that office politics should be kept at a minimum and that all employees should respect each other to create and maintain an atmosphere of reverence.
Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, while speaking on the occasion, said that IoBM’s alumni, which is over 8000 strong, had been the first recipient of the academic value IoBM imparted over the last two decades and that this alumni has been adding immense value while serving in Pakistan’s national and multinational companies. Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani emphasized that IoBM has come a long way forward in implementing policies and procedures and that with dedication and effort the MS/MPhil and Ph.D. programs at IoBM will be streamlined further to meet international criteria.
