IoBM Alumni Association launch ‘Cycling Club’

To support a healthy environment and cycle-friendly campus, the IoBM Alumni Affairs Department with the members of the Alumni Association Council & Free Riders professional riders’ group, hosted its first cycling event at IoBM in the morning of Sunday, November 24, 2019. The IoBM Cycling Club strives to create an inclusive, engaged community of cyclists, from recreational riders through elite racers, in all disciplines with the IoBM fraternity. The club is formed to promote safe cycling, physical fitness in cycling and companionship on the road. 

Over 175 enthusiastic cyclists from Alumni, Faculty Students and Management with families including Mr. Talib Karim, President; Dr. Irfan Hyder, Rector; Dr. Asima Zahid, HoD Healthcare Management; Mr. Fahran Ahmed, President Alumni Association; Mr. Kamran Bilgrami, Manager Alumni Affairs completed a well-planned course of approx. 14+ km from IoBM to Airmen Golf Club and back. Backend support of security, first-aid kit, professional cyclists helped cyclists in completing the course smoothly.

The IoBM Cycling Club endeavors to create multiple opportunities at all levels for club members to participate in organized rides and events, races, and alumni reunions. The Club will offer regularly scheduled rides on weekends. There are many featured or special event rides planned for 2020 and years to come. The club supports cyclists of all age and experience levels including alumni, students, faculty, management with friends and families.
