How pedagogy enhances education   

The Entrepreneurship and Management Excellence Center (EMEC) at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) is organizing a three-day workshop fully-financed by IoBM on “Pedagogical Leadership Teaching and Training” focusing on the 3 ECTS and the Finnish-based model of education at the EMEC Conference Room from August 25 – 27, 2018.

The resource person is Ms. Christa Tigerstedt, Senior Lecturer, Educationalist and Practitioner, ARCADA University of Applied Sciences, Finland. She is accompanied by Mr. Faisal Shahzad, International Business Development Director, ARCADA University of Applied Sciences. Besides the presence of Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM, during the inaugural session on Tuesday, August 25, 2018, this workshop was largely attended by the faculty of IoBM, Barrett Hodgson University and Newports Institute of Communication and Economics.

This Workshop on “Pedagogical Leadership Teaching and Training”, like similar training and faculty development programs at the EMEC, IoBM, continue to be a regular feature at this Institute. It is primarily due to the personal interest of Mr. Talib Karim which evinces keen interest of the faculty in business management and allied disciplines at IoBM and for external participants indeed.

Workshop modules are practically oriented and aim at developing skills for leading and developing learning processes in a class or group. Exercises and development possibilities as well as hands on tools and hints have been designed for both modules of this Workshop. The modules complement each other and are a support for didactic initiatives in general. Module 1 has a meso-micro focus on education whereas Module 2 has a macro focus on education.

Segments of the workshop are so designed as to involve participants with pertinent and result-oriented knowledge and include such face-to-face learning as Pedagogical Leadership; The Four Frames as a tool for Pedagogical Leadership; The Structural Frame; The Power Frame for Leading; The Cultural Frame for Leading and The People Frame for Leading.

Guest participants from Newports Institute of Communication and Economics were Ms. Saeeda Saleem and Ms. Farhat Zehra and from Barrett Hodgson University the participants were Dr. Manzoor Khalidi, Dr. Ammad Aslam Khan, Mr. Ahmad Zahid Rao, Ms. Kaukab Abid Azhar and Ms. Nayab Iqbal.
