All Karachi Shahjehan Karim Declamation Contest 2017

The Literary and Public Speaking Society (LPSS), Institute of Business Management (IoBM) held its first edition of “All Karachi Shahjehan Karim Declamation Contest 2017” on Thursday, November 02, 2017 at the IoBM Auditorium. This declamation contest was a tribute to the Late Founder President of IoBM, Mr. Shahjehan Syed Karim, who devoted his life towards excellence in education.
Besides the inspiring presence of Mr. Talib Syed Karim, President IoBM, Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director, Director. Administration, Admissions and Finance, Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Dean CBM and CES, the event was largely attended by students, staff, faculty, HoDs and other Deans. Also present were faculty of IoBM’s Communication Department including Mr. Muhammad Irfan Sheikh, faculty advisor, LPSS and society members of the LPSS.
Students from various schools, colleges and universities participated in this competition including Al-huda International, Learn to Learn Academy, The City School Gulshan (A Levels), Whales College, Tabani’s School of Accountancy, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), SZABIST, IoBM, NED University of Science and Technology, PAF-KIET, University of Karachi, Hamdard University, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, DOW University of Health Sciences, Jinnah University for Women and DHA SUFFA University. Judges invited for Urdu declamation were Mr. Abid Ali Umang and Dr. Osama Razi while for English declamation were Ms. Noor-us-Sabah Tauqeer and Mr. Abdullah Jamal.
The winners of the declamation contest were as follows: English declamation for School and College category: Zakham Ali; Urdu declamation for School and College category: Munza Iqbal. English declamation for University category: Amna Nasir; Urdu declamation for University category: Syed Iqbal Hussain. While City School Gulshan (A-Level) won the Team Trophy for School and College category, the University of Karachi bagged the Team Trophy in University category. Among the IoBM students taking part in this contest, Abdul Moiz received the best declamation award in English while Abdul Rehman Shahzab’s declamation was declared the best in Urdu.
